Nocona Court Docket Searches
The city's own Nocona citation portal is the best first stop for a municipal case. One search screen covers several lookup methods. You can enter a citation number with a date of birth, license details, vehicle information, a name and date of birth, or a business name. Reach for the citation number first. It pins down one case and keeps people with similar names from getting mixed up in the docket results.
- Confirm that Nocona Municipal Court is printed on the citation.
- Open the official Nocona search and choose one field group.
- Enter the exact citation details without extra variations.
- Compare the returned charge and status with the paper notice.
- Call the clerk before relying on a listed court date.
What if the city search comes up empty? Do not send money through some other court. Instead, figure out who issued the ticket: it may be a justice court, or the case may sit with the Montague County Clerk or District Clerk. Calling the right clerk directly also works best for older, restricted, or non-indexed Nocona records.
Nocona Citation Portal Fields
The portal gives several ways to pull up the same Nocona citation. Its blank official search screen lays out every field without exposing a live party record.

Because the lookup runs on exact fields, careful typing matters. One wrong birth date, license state, or plate state can bury a valid Nocona result that is really there.
| Field group | Input | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Citation | Number and DOB | Most exact city-ticket search |
| License | Number, state, DOB | When citation number is unavailable |
| Vehicle | Vehicle or plate and state | Vehicle-linked citation |
| Name | Name and DOB | Party lookup with added match fact |
| Business | Business name | Entity citation search |
The screen documents an SSN option as well. Still, it should stay a last resort whenever a citation number or another less sensitive key can find the Nocona record just as well.
Inside Nocona Municipal Court
Nocona Municipal Court handles city ordinance violations and concurrent Class C misdemeanors inside the city. Judge Britton Brooks presides, Ashley McSwain appears as prosecutor, and Cindy McCracken serves as clerk. Each role is distinct. The judge rules. The prosecutor handles the city's case, and the clerk keeps the court records and settings.
The office lists 940-825-3283. Its fax is 940-825-6240, email cmccracken@cityofnocona.com, and hours run 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Its municipal page posts current hearing information and payment instructions. The next-court notice there changes. A saved copy can go stale.
For contacts and notices in one spot, use the official Nocona court page.

Before any appearance, check the city page once more. A search result and a current court notice serve two different purposes.
Nocona Clerk and Chambers
Nocona's published notice places a court setting in the council chambers at 102 Clay Street. Treat that as a hearing location, nothing more. Current instructions come from the court page and the clerk. Not every Nocona record task happens in the chambers. Ask before you go.
- Court clerk
- The official contact for Nocona docket status, records, and current appearance instructions.
- Council chambers
- The room identified for the observed court setting, subject to later city updates.
- Next court date
- A dynamic notice that should be checked again before travel.
- Citation portal
- The separate online search and payment route for eligible Nocona city tickets.
A record request can start with a phone call or an email. Give the citation number, the exact party name, and the type of copy or setting confirmation you need. The clerk can then explain whether counter service is required and whether the material is public.
Finding Nocona Court Dates
Nocona posts a next-court notice on its municipal page, but that notice is built to change. Match it against your individual citation and confirm your matter is set for that session. When the portal and the page disagree, the city clerk settles it.
| Date | The current Nocona setting date shown for the case or announced by the court. |
|---|---|
| Time | The assigned start time, which must be confirmed for the specific matter. |
| Location | The current room, including council chambers when the city notice says so. |
| Judge | The municipal judge scheduled to preside. |
| Setting Type | The event, such as appearance, pretrial, plea, trial, or compliance review. |
A reset only moves the hearing on the Nocona Municipal Court docket. The charge itself stays open until resolved. Keep the old notice. Write down when you called the clerk, then ask what the new date is. An up-to-date notice from the city should win out over any saved copy.
When Nocona Dates Change
Seeing two different next-court dates? Do not guess which one controls. Both the city's current instructions and your individual case placement matter, so the safest move is quick confirmation from the clerk.
- Save the citation number and the date shown in the portal.
- Check the current Nocona Municipal Court notice.
- Call 940-825-3283 or email the listed clerk.
- Ask whether the specific citation is on that docket.
- Record the confirmed time and place before appearing.
This same chain works when the web page is temporarily down. You reach a verified local contact instead of guessing with a county calendar. That calendar may have nothing to do with a Nocona municipal matter at all.
Current notice controls: A dated copy of a Nocona notice is context, not proof of a future setting.
Nocona Traffic Ticket Lookups
A Nocona police citation usually covers a city or Class C matter. It generally lives in the municipal portal. The court name printed on the ticket is your best routing clue. A citation from another city takes a different path. The same goes for a Montague County justice precinct. Each belongs in the record channel of the court that issued it.
Searching and paying are two different steps. A search locates the Nocona case. Payment responds to the charge and may affect the disposition. Nocona's page says it takes no cash or personal checks. Accepted forms are money order, cashier's check, and credit or debit card. Cards are presented in person under the posted instructions.
| Task | Nocona route | Important check |
|---|---|---|
| Find citation | Municipal portal | Match court and number |
| Verify date | City page and clerk | Confirm the case is set |
| Pay eligible case | Approved city method | Understand plea effect first |
| Contest charge | Court instructions | Do not treat payment as neutral |
For the county-wide split between municipal and JP tickets, see the Montague County traffic court records resource.
Nocona Youth Diversion Record
Nocona adopted a Youth Diversion Plan on December 31, 2024. The court keeps that plan open for public inspection. That date is a milestone, nothing more. Adopting a plan does not show that any young person qualified or finished a program. Current court action decides eligibility and how a case is handled.
Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 45A governs youth diversion in fine-only cases. Reading the plan does not unlock every juvenile case file, though. Names of minors and protected facts stay off limits. Shape any request accordingly.
Youth records: Ask the Nocona clerk for the public plan and current process, but do not expect unrestricted access to an individual child's file.
Only what law and the court allow can appear in the Nocona docket. A parent or authorized participant should take directions straight from the municipal court rather than guessing at access rules.
How Nocona Cases Reach County
Not every case inside Nocona belongs to Nocona Municipal Court. Class A and B misdemeanors and probate matters go to Montague County's Constitutional County Court. Its record sits with the County Clerk. Felonies and district civil or family matters belong to the 97th District Court of Texas. File those through the District Clerk. Justice courts, meanwhile, keep separate dockets for each precinct.
Docket flow: Nocona Municipal Court › Montague County Courts › 97th District Court of Texas.
Treat that map as a routing aid, not a universal appeal chart. A Nocona citation stays with the municipal court. Only law can move it. County-level matters are different. Search those by county cause number through the proper clerk or the Montague-linked Tyler portal. Statewide, re:SearchTX offers an electronic check. Public registration, role limits, and uneven record coverage still apply.
Nocona Court Versus County Clerk
The word "county" in Montague County does not convert a Nocona ticket into a County Clerk case. Nocona Municipal Court keeps its own city docket. The County Clerk holds the Constitutional County Court record, and the District Clerk keeps the 97th District Court files.
| Record | Custodian | Starting channel |
|---|---|---|
| Nocona Class C citation | Nocona Municipal Court | City portal or clerk |
| Class A/B misdemeanor | Montague County Clerk | County record route |
| Felony or district civil | Montague County District Clerk | Tyler search or clerk |
| JP ticket | Named JP clerk | Precinct-specific route |
If the Nocona docket search comes up empty, read the court caption before dialing a second office. The right office can search by cause or citation number. It can also describe mail or counter options and say whether a public terminal or written request fits your needs.
Who Can See Nocona Records
A Nocona court record can be open to the public and still hold protected pieces. Judicial records follow court rules, applicable law, and court orders. Not every field will show up online. Juvenile files, sealed matters, and sensitive identifying data can all be limited.
Key rules:
Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 addresses public inspection and copying of covered judicial records, with exceptions.
Texas Government Code § 552.0035 routes judiciary access through Supreme Court rules, other law, or court order.
Texas Family Code Chapter 58 restricts access to juvenile records.
A portal screen is not a certified record. Ask the Nocona clerk which copy type is available and whether certification can be provided. Also skip sharing birth dates, license numbers, addresses, or other sensitive search keys.
Nocona Records Without Results
An empty result can mean many things. Wrong input, wrong court, delayed posting, older records, or restricted access all fit. It does not prove the Nocona case vanished. Start narrow and retry a citation-number search. Then try the municipal page, a phone call, email, or the counter.
County matters run through Montague's official channels. Those include a county-linked Tyler search, clerk telephone service, free lobby computer research for district criminal and civil records, and written records requests. Mail or electronic-copy options depend on the office holding the record. Use those channels only after confirming the case is not a Nocona municipal matter.
Statewide re:SearchTX adds one more check for eligible electronic records. Public users must register, and document access varies. Carry the court name and case number between systems. That way a Nocona citation never gets confused with a county cause number.
Note: Confirm every Nocona setting and record with the municipal clerk. Online notices, access, and docket placement can change.
